BIOGRAPHY
Ivaylo Ivanov aka IVO
IVO has a multiple practice of Visual Arts. He now devotes himself full time to photography: his interests are varied; his approach is always sensitive, delicate and poetic. Nature is currently his favourite subject. To describe his art, he will show great modesty but he is also driven by a permanent ambition: to catch the fleeting moment on the fly, to show it. Huge preliminary work, great patience rewarded by the vibrant photos of beauty and sensitivity that he takes. His modesty does not allow him to do so but if he could, to describe his ambition to grasp as closely as possible the "true nature and the mystery of things", he would make his own statement that Hokusai, a great Japanese painter had written a day at 75: Since the age of six, I had a mania for drawing the shape of objects. Around the age of fifty, I had published an infinite number of drawings, but all that I produced before the age seventy years old is not worth counting. It was at the age of seventy-three that I understood roughly the structure of true nature, animals, grasses, trees, birds, fish and insects. Therefore, by the age of eighty, I will have made even more progress. At ninety years old, I will penetrate the mystery of things; at a hundred years old I will definitely have reached a degree of wonder, and when I am one hundred and ten years old, at home, either a point or a line, everything will be alive. I ask those who will live as long as me to see if I keep my word. Written at the age of seventy-five, by me, formerly Gwakiô Rjin, the old man crazy about drawing. "
